This is a question we get quite a lot and one of the examiners here has this advice.
You have quite a bit of time so, a couple of things that will save you time and money.
Work out what you need to work on.
If you are getting higher scores in your reading and listening, then you need to work on your speaking and writing. Now, here is a secret, are you ready? You can’t self-study these. You just can’t. So, first, you need to get your speaking and writing evaluated by and IELTS (ex) examiner. Get your speaking and writing evaluated properly by IELTS examiners here at upmyielts, and then you will know what to work on.
Don’t hurry.
If you find that your writing is not good enough to get the score you need, work on it. Get yourself a teacher and they will guide you through what you need to do and don’t do the exam until you are continuously scoring what you need.
Invest in yourself
So many people try to self-study for IELTS and do the exam again and again and again. All they are doing is handing their money over to IELTS and getting nothing in return. Don’t do the exam until you are ready; there is no luck when it comes to IELTS. Do the exam when you are ready.
Good luck.
